Worth Boucher Syrah Catfish Vineyard 2022 750 ML
Our Syrah comes from the Catfish Vineyard in the Templeton Gap District of Paso Robles, California.
The vineyard is conventionally farmed with sustainability in mind. The vineyard is a relatively cooler climate compared to the rest of Paso Robles due to the Estero Bay marine layer that often spills into the Templeton Gap and commonly receives cooling winds mid-afternoon (Winkler Climate Zone 2). The soil is shale, gravely loam, and clay.
Harvest is typically early October. We hand pick in the early morning and target brix in the mid 20's.
The Syrah 50% destemmed and 50% whole cluster fermented. We foot shred and pump over daily during fermentation with native yeast. The fermented grapes are pressed into neutral French oak barrels and ages for 15 months. Minimal SO2 used during aging and prior to bottling.
We hand bottle without fining or filtering.
