Resting on the shoulders of an excellent vintage, this has all the markings of classic Russian River Pinot Noir. Complex aromas of black cherry, cola and baking spices are wrapped in a luscious layer of sweet vanilla. With a couple of swirls, the wine opens up to intense notes of Bing cherry and a touch of earthiness. Soft and plush on entry, the mid palate offers a fruit-focused core that evolves into a complex medley of summer berries and fresh earth. Elegant, with balanced acidity, this is a perfect example of why Pinot Noir is a worthy partner for so many dishes, or in a glass all by itself.
